June 23 - Community sharing of Swedish/Norwegian/Finnish Traditions; Finnish baking demonstration: American Legion Hall, 9:30am. Vinalhaven residents share memories and recipes of their Scandinavian families and Jackie Harjula from the Finnish Heritage House in South Thomaston demonstrates Finnish baking; Nissau (coffee bread) and Pannukakku.
July 28 - Finnish Coastal Maine Settlements: Vinalhaven Public Library, 9am. One hour program with Steve Gifford of Warren, followed by Scandinavian Neighborhood Walks with Vinalhaven Finnish Descendants to Round the Mountain Road, Skin Hill, and Sands Road.
August 16 - Sauna Traditions: Vinalhaven Public Library, 7pm. With Charlie Heino of Belgrade.
September 22 - Musical Event: Finnish Kantele and Swedish Nyckelharpa: Pleasant River Chapel, 1pm. With Kantele (lap harp) players from South Thomaston and Warren.
